Lucy Branch is Director and senior conservator at Antique Bronze. She has worked on some of the most well-loved monuments in the UK including Nelson’s Column, Eros, Cleopatra’s Needle and The Albert Memorial.
Lucy’s career involves uncovering and preserving the stories held within our public sculpture and monuments. She stands at the intersection of science and art, combining rigorous technical expertise with deep historical understanding.
Her unique combination of training – an Art History degree combined with Material Studies from University College and a Masters in conservation from the Royal College of Art and Victoria & Albert Museum allows her to read the stories written both in historical documents and in the metal itself.
Through her podcast, Lucy explores the rich world of public sculpture from every angle. She invites contemporary sculptors to share their creative journeys, discussing their works that are shaping our public spaces. In other episodes, she uncovers the fascinating tales behind historic monuments – those silent witnesses that have graced our cities and towns through generations.
